Apex Learning | Multiple Course Pathways

Pathways to Student Success

Apex Learning Comprehensive Courses are developed with multiple course pathways, each designed to meet specific needs of students as they transition from middle school to high school and progress toward graduation.

General Studies Courses

The Apex Learning general studies curriculum features three course pathways to prepare all high school graduates for college and work. The courses share the same rigorous, standards-based content with varying levels of scaffolds and support, ensuring all students develop the depth of knowledge and higher-order thinking skills essential for success.

Literacy Advantage

Assist students in mastering required content to earn credits toward graduation, while simultaneously developing reading skills.

Core

Offer grade-level academic challenges, while providing targeted scaffolding for students who benefit from additional learning support.

Honors

Accelerate learning, deepen conceptual understanding, and prepare students for the rigors of Advanced Placement (AP)* courses.

Advanced Placement Courses

Authorized by the College Board, Apex Learning AP courses meet higher-education expectations of college-level courses and prepare students to demonstrate achievement through success on the AP exams. Courses target highly motivated students who are reading at grade level or above and who have a track record of success in high school coursework.

Foundations Courses

Foundations courses provide structured remediation in math, reading, and writing. Courses are appropriate for high school and transitioning middle school students who are not prepared for grade-level academic challenges.

Exam Prep Courses

Content aligned to the College Board standards combined with diagnostic tests, prescriptive study plans, and access to an AP-certified instructor builds confidence and prepares students for success on AP exams.
