Sue Peterson, Assistant Superintendent, Weslaco ISD: So our English language arts strategist who oversees all the secondary schools in that area really connected with the Apex end-of-course assessment prep and support because that's a big challenge for us, English I and English II end-of-course exams.
Joe Lopez, Superintendent, Kermit ISD: We know that our students are struggling with English I and English II and so the STAAR EOC prep work that Apex provides, I think will be very, very beneficial.
Dr. Dora Sauceda, Assistant Superintendent, Brownsville ISD: So Apex has been assisting us with the TSI preparation, SAT, ACT. It has assisted the students in getting ready for the dual courses and not to mention the STAAR preparation and the EOC preparation.
Sue Peterson, Assistant Superintendent, Weslaco ISD: The English teachers love the product. Very well aligned to the end-of-course assessments, which is big for teachers that are in those content areas.
Mark Cantu, Chief of Staff and School Improvement, Seguin ISD: You've got the relationship with the students. Let's maximize their time that they're on here using Tutorials so that the gaps don't get bigger. What we want to be able to do is put something in front of them that's going to, one, keep them engaged, but also to really close the gaps.
Dr. John White, Principal, Lumberton High School: The systems and structures built within Apex really help students understand goal setting and achieving those goals.
Mark Cantu, Chief of Staff and School Improvement, Seguin ISD: Now we know that we've got something that can meet our rigorous and relevant curriculum, something that is state aligned. They helped us look at the Tutorials, helped us look at the content to reorganize some of the content to meet our scope and sequence.
Dr. Dora Sauceda, Assistant Superintendent, Brownsville ISD: The impact has been positive results. There has been an increase in the number of students that have passed the TSI.
Mark Cantu, Chief of Staff and School Improvement, Seguin ISD: Because we felt an impact last year and it was positive. That is why we're pushing not just at the high school anymore, but now our middle schools as well.
Sue Peterson, Assistant Superintendent, Weslaco ISD: Last year we had a jump in our EOC scores. We had the most significant increase that we had had in the past five years.
Dr. John White, Principal, Lumberton High School: We just got done recently using it for the December retest. I want to say I just I love the results that came in. So we're pleased with what we're doing and we're excited to continue to use it.
